Gandhi had two tongues, what he spoke was different than its actions. Ambedkar openly critcised him about his action the only one who dare to do so. what he wrote in English paper was different than written in vernacular gujrati laguage. one should do comparative study of 'Deen Bandu' journal with his thougts. Then the true Gandhi will be exposed. People of India tries to forget him but his generous politicians kept him alive but one day he will be forgetten. Most of his work is the plagarised version of Buddhism to a certain extent.

Great paragraph. It is amazing how varied the reactions to these people are. Just from my personal experience, Gandhi is revered by most Indians here, largely but not only because of his stance against Apartheid.

He's obviously a national hero in India, but there are vast areas of India where he is almost regarded with contempt, as a racist or classist & someone who played favourites. My wife just rolls her eyes when she hears people here gush on and on about him, she used to actually be offended until she gave up trying to defend her viewpoint to people who won't hear a word spoken against him.
