		<description>Great paragraph. It is amazing how varied the reactions to these people are. Just from my personal experience, Gandhi is revered by most Indians here, largely but not only because of his stance against Apartheid.

He's obviously a national hero in India, but there are vast areas of India where he is almost regarded with contempt, as a racist or classist &amp; someone who played favourites. My wife just rolls her eyes when she hears people here gush on and on about him, she used to actually be offended until she gave up trying to defend her viewpoint to people who won't hear a word spoken against him.</description>
